1500 Market Street

1500 Market Street explores the possibility of infilling a surface lot attached to an existing historic bulding in downtown Denver.  The site is located just block from Union Station and Coors field and presents a great opportunity for ground level retail under 4 levels of unique high-end office.  Playing off the industrial nature of the neighborhood the design utilizes many expressed structural features including cantilevered balconies, solar louvers and a large glass shield with mullion less edges that brings daylight deep into the space.  The shallow depth of the site would allow for only perimeter columns and a truly open floor plate.  The pedestrian experience of the site is greatly improved by adding ground level retail and tucking the parking underground, which is accessed from the alley.  The top-level office space includes an exterior balcony with stunning views of Union Station and the mountains.
