Following a thorough site search, Mortenson Company selected Denver’s River North (RiNo) neighborhood for its new regional home, an area aligned with its values of placemaking, craft, and creative community engagement. The result is a four-story, mixed-use office development that reinforces the urban fabric and activates Walnut Street at the pedestrian level, while responding to the neighborhood’s industrial context through scale and material expression. The design merges traditional construction techniques with contemporary sustainability strategies, serving as both a workplace and a community anchor. Ground-floor retail / restaurant spaces, below-grade public parking, and upper-level outdoor terraces enhance urban connectivity. While rooted and responsive to the contextual history of RiNo, the project stands to also represent the next generation of architecture in this ever-evolving neighborhood.
